Basic Methods of Particle Dispersion

Particle agglomeration refers to the aggregation of multiple individual particles under certain conditions. Agglomerated particles are characterized by low binding force and instability. The agglomerated particles can be dispersed under external force but will aggregate again under suitable conditions. Aggregation is mainly caused by surface charges on the particles, moisture, and van der Waals force, etc. The smaller the particles, the greater the possibility of agglomeration because of their larger surface energy.
